For Schools
Dear SENDCOs and Teachers,
We are investigating whether being curious and motivated can enhance language learning and would greatly appreciate your help!
- We are looking for children in Years 4-6 (aged 8-11) to participate.
- We are keen to test children struggling with (and without) reading or spoken language (e.g., children with dyslexia, DLD, autistic children).
During our study, children will play word learning games on a computer, followed by cognitive and language assessments. Most children find this a lot of fun. We offer them a small gift for participating.
Two Ways to Participate:
Inside School (Preferred)
- We collaborate with SENDCOs/class teachers to send out information to families, ensuring that parents give informed consent.
- The study is conducted at school in a designated area.
- Each child is tested individually across two 1-1.5 hour sessions, one week apart.
To arrange this option, please email us at: ncodelab@ucl.ac.uk.
Outside School
- Families can visit our lab at UCL.
- We can also arrange home visits for flexibility.
- Online options are available.
- Sessions follow the same structure as the in-school option.
Please encourage families to contact us directly by sharing the details below!
